Aluminum alloy wheels

Aluminum wheels have won the favor of more and more private car owners because of their beauty, safety and comfort. Nowadays, almost all new models have adopted aluminum alloy wheels, and many car owners have also replaced their original wheels with aluminum alloy wheels. Alloy wheels are mostly made of aluminum as the basic material, with manganese, magnesium, chromium, titanium and other metal elements added as appropriate. Compared with steel wheels, alloy wheels are energy-saving, safe and comfortable, so more and more cars have alloy wheels as standard equipment.

1.  Three main features of alloy wheels

1.1. Energy saving

Alloy wheels are light in weight, manufactured with high precision, and have small deformation and low inertia resistance during high-speed rotation, which is conducive to improving the straight-line driving performance of the car and reducing the rolling resistance of the tires, thus reducing fuel consumption.

1.2. Safety

The thermal conductivity of aluminum alloy is three times that of steel, so the heat dissipation effect is very good, which enhances the braking performance, improves the service life of tires and brake discs, and effectively guarantees the safe driving of the car.

1.3. Comfort

Cars equipped with alloy wheels generally use flat tires with better cushioning and shock absorption performance than ordinary tires, making the car much more comfortable on uneven roads or at high speeds.

2. Aluminum alloy wheels advantages and disadvantages

Aluminum alloy wheels are beautiful, light and fuel-saving; aluminum alloy has high expansion rate and good elasticity; heat dissipation: aluminum alloy and steel have good thermal conductivity. Good rigidity, good roundness, should not be deformed, the wear and tear of various parts of the car is small, suitable for high-speed driving; steel is soft, easy to deform, four-wheel positioning are useless, high-speed (more than 160) obviously the car will vibrate, affecting the life of the car; good elasticity, improve the smoothness of the vehicle driving, easier to absorb the vibration and noise in motion. But this wheel durability is slightly worse, once encountered hard objects after the collision deformation can not be repaired.

3. Aluminum alloy wheel care methods.

3.1. When the wheel temperature is high, it should be allowed to cool naturally before cleaning, never wash with cold water, otherwise, it will damage the aluminum alloy wheel, and even deform the brake disc and affect the braking effect. In addition, cleaning aluminum alloy wheels with detergent at high temperature will cause chemical reaction on the surface of the wheels, which will lose luster and affect the beauty.

3.2 When the wheels are covered with difficult tar, if general cleaning agents do not help, try to remove them with brushes, but do not use hard brushes, especially iron brushes, so as not to damage the surface of the wheels.

3.3. If the area where the vehicle is located is wet or close to the seashore, the wheels should be cleaned regularly to avoid corrosion of the aluminum surface by salt.

3.4. If necessary, after cleaning, the wheels can be waxed and maintained to make them shine always.
